Bryan and Pook’s  Vintage Wedding

Bryan and Pook, an adorable couple I recently had the privilege of photographing for their vintage wedding, brought something special and unique. Their wardrobe and really captured the vintage flare of their wedding style, bringing romance and grace to their photos. Pook’s lace dress was stunning, and we utilized a few environmental pieces to highlight and capture the romance.

One of my favorite backgrounds was a natural brick wall from a tall, old building with these fabulous arched doorways. The bricks were rubbed raw near the street level and the doors don’t look like they’ve been opened for years, but the setting exuded a classic, old-fashioned feel that matched the vibe of the couple’s wedding perfectly. I also particularly enjoyed the juxtaposition of the soft lace of Pook’s dress with the hard, rough surface of the bricks. It really added to the romance of the setting,

Plus we got some really great shots with not only the brick building in the background, but with the entire old-fashioned city block. This wide scene could be from a classic movie, except for the modern touches of the happy couple themselves.

Another thing I really enjoyed about shooting this amazing couple was their obvious love for one another, and how cute they were together. My particular favorite moment came when Bryan and Pook shared a special kiss. Pook is a bit shorter than Bryan even in her gigantic heels, so she hopped up on an old crate box and gave her new husband a super cute kiss on the forehead. It was playful, flirty and totally perfect, as you can see just how much this couple loves and adores one another.

Photographing weddings is one of my favorite activities, as each one is unique to the couple’s story and character traits. This shoot with Brian and Pook really turned out wonderfully romantic with the vintage and urban accents that highlighted their personal wedding style and cute, playful relationship. Congrats Bryan and Pook!
