Beer Week

Beer Week Sacramento, California

I like beer.

Before you get the wrong impression, I am not a fan of cheap, canned, drink all weekend in a bedsheet toga, college-life beer, but I admit I do love a good beer.

My favorite is a beer with a light to medium body, delicate flavors and light undertones. I love a quality microbrew that is carefully brewed to an optimum golden amber and served chilled to just above freezing. Where that first sip makes everything that happened earlier in the day seem less significant.

Yeah, THAT kind of beer.

So, what better way to celebrate beer than Beer Week in Sacramento?

Each year, Californian microbrewers set up a full week to share recipes, sample brews and celebrate all things beer.

There are plenty of breweries in the Sacramento area, and some have been customers of mine for other events such as parties, weddings and the like. It made sense for me to attend the festivities, photograph some of my favorite vendors, network, and of course see a group of my friends there getting to sample some of the wares. I lived vicariously through them.

Two of my favorites were also on hand to share.  Track Seven and Out of Bounds make some of the best brews I have ever had and even kept the crowd coming back for more!

All in all, Beer Week was a great success. Everyone who attended had a great time; the breweries had a chance to share their finest and your humble shutterbug got some of the best pictures possible.
