The Young Professionals Network of Placer County Association of Realtors raises money for various charities in and around the county annually, with last year raising an incredible $11,000.00. This year, additional tickets were sold and over 700 people attended with almost $15,000.00 raised for the charities.

Part of the entertainment for the evening was interwoven into the theme of a Hawaiian luau. Those who attended were met at the door with leis, and each cabana by the pool had a sponsor. Professional hula dancers were on hand to share their craft with the attendees.

Na Maka O Pu’uwai Aloha, a Polynesian dance school, performed a beautiful hula dance, led by instructors Janet Auwae-McCoy and Tanisha Reshke. Young Professionals Network’s Chairperson Liz Baeza organized this evening of networking and Hawaiian fun, along with nineteen other members of the Aloha Night task force.

Attendees were encouraged to visit the cabanas for a card for a gift card and a gift basket giveaway. Cabana sponsors included Paramount Equity Mortgage, VITEK Mortgage Group, Lennar, Golden 1 Credit Union, PrimeLending, Banc of California, Republic Mortgage, Prato Real Estate, United Lending Partners, Stearns Lending, HomeSmart ICARE Realty, Sellstate Direct Real Estate, and Citibank.

As for me, I was holding a camera and could not dance, even though I wanted to dance. This does not mean I did not visit the cabanas, but it is hard to dance with a pina colada and a camera, you understand I am sure.

Planning for next year’s event is underway and I would love to hear from you and all our non-profits here in Placer County for what we need to do to help get you more awareness in our community.

Ways I help already nonprofit organizations and plan on continuing to help out:

  • Social Media & Blogging about events
  • Digitally documenting key points
  • Inviting friends/philanthropists to donate
  • Recruiting volunteers to actively participate
  • Photographing & video coverage of events
  • Submitting my photos of events to publications
