Senior Portrait for Makena

Senior year is a huge milestone for everyone. That is why senior pictures are so important to students. This helps the memories of this crucial time in their lives live on. Senior pictures are for friends, families, and for the yearbooks. It is always so great to do these shots because the senior generally has the idea of what they want for their images, choosing themes that are truly representative of their personalities. In this series of shots, I was fortunate enough to be the one behind the camera for Makena and her senior portraits. Take a close look at how I was able to capture the bubbly and outgoing spirit that Makena has.

Here, Makena is sitting down with a beautiful landscape in the background. The sun catches her blonde hair, creating a perfect frame for her face while she poses smiling at the camera. We were fortunate to have such a beautiful day to capture her photos.

As the sun sets in the background, Makena playfully poses barefoot while laying down in the grass. While you are not able to actually see the sunset in the background, you can see the effects of it. You can see the shade with the sun poking through, creating amazingly perfect silhouettes in the background.

This is a closeup from the same series of shots as the above image. Getting a closeup of her glowing face as she poses in these important milestone images. I like that this can be such a great image for her yearbook photo.

IIn this last image, you get a stunning glimpse as the sun is further down in the sky. The effect that you get from this sun is incredible, just one of the reasons why outdoor locations are ideal for taking images when the weather permits it. This is another image of Makena that would be perfect for her yearbook photograph. I also love the way the landscape frames her in this picture. She is perfectly poised and beaming with excitement to start this next chapter of her life.

Capturing milestones like senior portraits is truly an incredible joy for me. I love being a part of every big moment. It is very special to me because I get a front row seat to huge milestones that people are celebrating. I work hard to ensure that all of the photos that my clients receive perfectly represent these incredible moments so that they can show them off for years to come. It truly is an honor for me as a photographer. I hope that Makena loves these images as much as I do, and I hope she moves on to do amazing things.
