Senior Portraits for John

Senior Portraits for John

Senior year is such a milestone for students. This is the last year of their “childhood” as they go off onto their own path. Some go to college afterwards while other find jobs right out of school. As soon as seniors get their diploma, they are off to the next stage of their adventure: young adulthood. I love doing senior portraits because this is such a magical time in my client’s lives. It is incredible to be a part of and I love to see the hope in their eyes as they look towards the future. In this instance, I was fortunate enough to photograph John’s senior portraits.

I took a lot of amazing images, so it was hard to pick my favorites out of the bunch. This first pose was just a standard sitting down pose with a brick wall as his background. The color on the wall was a perfect complement to his attire, framing him perfectly for the shot.

This is a more classic portrait that you would typically see as the senior picture in the year book. I loved the relaxed spirit of John, something that I really wanted to capture in his portraits. You can tell that this is one laid-back teen who is looking forward to moving forward.

Sitting outside on one of these street side wicker chairs was a great idea for this image. You can see the hustle and bustle of activity behind him as he sits calmly. This is a unique backdrop for his senior portrait images.

Taken inside of the location that the previous picture was taken, this shows John as he is lost in thought while staring at the activity that is going on outside of the restaurant. He is still smiling as if he is really excited about his future.

Standing up, John is casually leaning against the wall. This is another shot that is very typical of senior portraits. The dark background adds a stoic touch to this great image.

One of the best things about taking pictures on site is that you get a lot better backdrop for images than when you are in a studio.

Again, taking pictures out in the real world helps to create such amazing images. The details from this location on the sidewalk was just stunning. John is in a very relaxed pose, leaning against the brick wall. This background is both neutral and exciting, but still makes it so that his colorful shirt pops.

It was such a joy to be a part of this special moment for John and his family. His senior picture will help enhance the memories of such an important time in his life. This picture will represent him in the yearbook and other graduation materials. I am so glad that I was able to be the one who took these milestone images for John. He has a very bright future ahead of him and I’m honored that I could be part of his story.
