Surprise Engagement New Years Day

A great thing about being a photographer is capturing those beautiful and special moments in your client’s life. In this case, I was fortunate enough to photograph the surprise engagement new years day between Kevin and Anna on New Years Day in the Muir Woods. This is truly an incredible way to start off the new year. Here are the images from this special time as they start this next chapter of their life.

This is one of the best shots of the day. The happy couple is jumping up gleefully in the air. The Muir Woods is such a stunning location to take photos. You can see the look on their faces as they celebrate this new chapter in their lives.

What would an engagement photo shoot be without a shot of the shiny new ring? Here you can see an up-close shot of the bling on her finger, while this happy couple holds hands. This is an image that is so perfect for these types of moments.

While you can see in this image that the couple is far away, you can still get such a great shot of the scenery around the couple. This is a picturesque bridge, nestled away in the breathtaking scenery here. The greenery frames the couple, creating such a gorgeous shot.

Kevin and Anna look so playfully in love in this shot. The woods in the backdrop make for such a perfect landscape for these shots. One of the great things about this shot is the sun shining through the trees in the background, offering a decent amount of light. The embrace between the happy couple is another excellent part of this image.

Here is another amazing shot of the ring. Anna is showing off her new piece of jewelry on this close-up shot of the ring. Even without seeing her face, you can see her intently admiring the ring. The way that the sun comes through on this shot, offering a little bit of glistening on the ring to give it that stunning sparkle.

Of course, we have to share the shot of the big moment. What Anna thought was just a beautiful day walking around nature for photos turned out to be a moment that changed both of their lives. You can see the look of surprise on her face. This was one of the most special parts of the night.

I had to get an up-close shot of this incredible moment. The sheer joy on Anna’s face is absolutely perfect and it’s especially awesome how surprised she looks. This is also great because of the look of pure happiness on Kevin’s face.

This is the after shot of the proposal and you can see the shock is still on Anna’s face. Kevin and Anna look extremely happy in this shot, looking forward to their future lives together. This wooden bridge was the perfect spot, and the scenery is beautiful here.

I am so looking forward to photographing Kevin and Anna again at there wedding in 2020!!! I can’t wait!!
