Bayley Barn Wedding – Christina & Ryan

Bayley Barn Wedding

weddings georgetown, caWedding photography is a pleasure like no other but with it comes a whole different set of pressure. When you are doing portrait photography there’s always the chance to come back another day but with a wedding you have to get it perfect right then and there. No second chances, no looking back. Fortunately for me, this kind of pressure is what gets my photographic juices flowing and I really do love sharing such a special moment with people. Christina and Ryan were kind enough to ask me to photograph the memories of their big day and I can honestly say that it was a privilege to be involved.

St James Church in Georgetown is possible one of the most romantic settings I’ve taken photos in an I feel incredibly lucky to have been there on such a special day. Although a beautiful setting isn’t essential for great wedding photography it does make a massive difference and I was able to get some great shots of the architecture that really brought the entire ceremony to life.

There’s a picture that I just adore taking whenever I’m doing wedding photography and I look forward to it all morning. That moment that the groom sets eyes on the bride is truly magical and always makes my heart sing. You see the nerves release and the love ooze from every pore. That moment is the one that captures love in its truest form and this stands true for Ryan. When Ryan first laid eyes on Christina (who was looking beautiful in her dress) you could see the tension leave his body and the love well up within him.

Christina and Ryan made my job incredibly easy on the day as they didn’t look out of place with the camera pointing at them. As a photographer I’m used to having to get people to relax in front of the lens – it’s part of the job! There was no need with Christina and Ryan as once they were in each other’s company it instantly became about the two of them as a couple.

The one thing I truly wanted to capture in the photographs was the love they held for one another and to do this we decided to go and take some photos of just the two of them outside the Bayley Barn. If you look at the photos it’s easy to see they are in love but I wanted to express their gentle nature as well. Although I used natural lighting we spent a lot of time making sure the lighting was warm and soft, mirroring the nature of the couple I was photographing.

I will never tire of wedding photography and being involved in such a personal day in a couple’s relationship is a privilege. It’s beautiful and a true honor to be invited to take photos on such an amazing experience and it genuinely is a massive compliment that Christina and Ryan would want to have me involved in this day. Christina and Ryan had their reception at the beautiful, historic Bayley Barn. For a direct event booking contact Bayley Barn using their website click here.
