Fast food is not my favorite; I admit it, but I have had to do drive through meals on more than one occasion in my career, it is not something I try to do on a regular basis. I do, however, like to eat locally. If there is a chance to find a small restaurant chain or small business, I am all for it. Such is the case with Jimboy’s Tacos, and their food is one of my top choices when I am on the go. This was a great event celebrating Jimboy’s Tacos 60th Anniversary.

It is hard for many businesses to survive more than a single generation, but Jimboy’s Tacos has survived for 60 years and there is no sign of it slowing down.

This Anniversary celebration for Jimboy’s Tacos was held at the E. Bidwell St. location in Folsom, Ca and I was on hand for photographic coverage of the event.

Customers who attended could get a second one of their famous ground beef Jimboy’s tacos for just $0.60 cents in honor of the celebration.Jimboys-60-Celebrates-Years-Folsom

Family came in from across the country, including Hawaii, to be a part of this anniversary event. The founder, Jim Knudson, passed in 2011, but the rest of the family came in celebration and to honor the legacy their father worked for so many years to achieve.

There were plenty of family friendly events on hand, including coloring, face painting and balloon twisting for the kids. The local GTO Car Club was also in attendance, sharing some of their fine American muscle cars. They were all polished and freshly waxed, and they photographed well. I even got some pictures of me behind the wheel, which is always fun.

Your humble shutterbug was snapping pictures, participating in the event and enjoying one…well maybe more Jimboy’s tacos and airbrush face painting too.

Speaking of shutterbugs, it is the time to get those senior pictures and holiday portraits done. Also, be ready for the homecoming rushes that are no doubt around the corner as well. Book early; my schedule fills fast!
