Being a photographer can require a lot of traveling and it can be a refreshing change to be in a new atmosphere, but I really love working with the businesses in my area.
I have previously blogged about the Putah Creek Winery, and they are proud to be announcing their brand new tasting room in Davis, California. I was lucky to be on hand to help celebrate and photograph the whole exciting event of Putah Creek Grand Opening and taste a little of the mouthwatering wine and chocolates they provided.
Just like a fine microbrew, I have a passion for quality wines, and the Northern California wines are some of the finest I have ever had. Now, anyone who comes to our lovely area will have the opportunity to sample one of the best wineries around – Putah Creek. This was a very popular and important event with many local upstanding community members attending the grand opening. I had the chance to be pictured with the mayor and one of the council men for Davis, in addition to the many great pictures I was fortunate enough to capture.
Upon commencing, District Director Elly Fairclough gave the celebratory speech, and she praised the hard work and dedication of the vineyard, partners and employees. Following was a speech from the city of Davis Mayor Joe Krovoza and one from Don Saylor. Saylor, a Yolo County Supervisor, also awarded a certificate in recognition to Diego Barison and Jessica Chin Foo for the new Putah Creek Winery Tasting Room.
The new tasting room is right in the heart of downtown Davis, and the building has a very warm small-town feel mixed with a modern boutique like elegance. I was able to capture much of the essence of the room using the ambient lighting and the rich tones of the interior. All in all, it was some of the best moments while working an event like this and the wine is so good.
As always, I will soon be off again to another location to cover an event like this one, photographing an elegant wedding, or other cherished event for a customer.
